A talented Teeside teenager has been selected for the England Under-18s golf squad.
Tom Hartshorne, from Eaglescliffe, earned the spot just weeks after turning 16, marking a significant milestone in a season full of progress and achievement.
He has also qualified for the Justin Rose Telegraph Championship in Portugal, one of junior golf's biggest stages.
The three-day final, held at The Quinta do Lago Resort, is known as the unofficial junior golf major and has featured past competitors such as Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood, and Matt Fitzpatrick.
Mr Hartshorne, who is sponsored by Teesside recycling firm Scott Bros, said: "I'm really grateful to Scott Bros, as a local business, for its continued support.
"Competing in events adds up, and sponsorship allows me to focus fully on my golf.
"It's been a tough season in places, but being selected for England U18s and qualifying for the Telegraph Championship means a lot."

He also represented his country at the European Boys' Team Championship and the European Young Masters.
