A man in his 40s suspected of killing a man in his 60s Wednesday on the Pico Rivera side of its border with Downey was arrested.
Deputies responded shortly after 6 a.m. to the 8300 block of Telegraph Road, near the Santa Ana (5) Freeway, to reports regarding an unresponsive individual, according to the Sheriff's Information Bureau
Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics arrived at the location a short time later and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
His name was being withheld pending notification of relatives.
Further investigation led deputies to arrest a man who resides at the residence.
The unidentified suspect was booked at the Pico Rivera Sheriff's Station on suspicion of murder and was being held on $2 million bail.
It was unclear what motivated the fatal attack.
Sheriff's officials said the case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office for filing of charges.
