City of Wilmington seeking artist for new public artwork installation

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - The City of Wilmington is requesting proposals for a new permanent public artwork.

The request is for an art piece that would commemorate Wilmington's role during the American Revolution.

"The artwork should reflect the historical importance of Wilmington's revolutionary past while creating a meaningful and lasting landmark for the city," stated the city in a press release.

The selected artist or team would be granted a $25,000 all-inclusive budget to cover design, fabrication, transportation, and installation costs, including necessary permits.

The selected artwork would be installed in downtown Wilmington.

To submit, artists will need to email all materials as a single PDF to [email protected] using the subject line "Revolutionary Wilmington Art Proposal - [Your Name]."
