Prepare to Pay More Iowa - This Streaming Service is Hiking Prices in 2025

We all know the term "cutting the cord" right? People who've dumped cable in favor of streaming services like Netflix.

Well, that was all well and good before there were 5,700 streaming services to keep track of.

One of the most popular allowed user to both cut the cord and keep watching their favorite cable and network shows.

YouTube TV seemed like a fantastic choice for those people. That is, when it was under $40 a month.

YouTube TV, much to the chagrin of its users, announced on X that is was raising its costs to a whopping $82.99 a month.

That's not a typo... it's going to cost over $80 a month to continue using the service.

If that seems steep, well it is. But imagine paying $82.99 a month on top of costs for other streamers like Netflix, Disney+, Peacock, etc.

Even the cheaper versions of those streaming services that include ads are still costly.

Needless to say, commentators on X were pretty POed...

The cost bump is a $10 jump over the current cost, which is still way up from where the service was when it first became available in 2017.

The service has seen a cost jump of 137% increase since it debuted.

Will customers actually make the switch to another service, or simply scrap YouTube TV?

Of course, on social media, they claim they will, but time will tell.

There are other options for those looking to stream live TV - Philo, Sling, Frndly are all available and claim to cost less.

You'll want to do research before committing, but there's also the other option: cancel the service and don't replace it. That's the cheapest option, of course.

Speaking of streaming, were these the best movies of 2024?
