The Chicago Cubs today activated righthander Ryan Brasier from the 15-day injured list. To make room for Brasier on the 26-man active roster, righthander Ethan Roberts has been optioned to Triple-A Iowa.

Brasier appeared in one game for the Cubs in Tokyo against the Dodgers, allowing two hits, a walk and a run in one inning March 18. In six rehab outings with Iowa, Brasier has allowed two runs in 5⅔ innings (3.18 ERA) with six strikeouts, six hits and one walk.

Roberts has appeared in five games for the Cubs previously this year (5.40 ERA in 8⅓ innings, six strikeouts) but did not make an appearance with the Cubs since being recalled on Tuesday, May 20.
