Sam Jackson of West Columbia earned his third consecutive Player of the Year honor, while Todd White of Spartanburg is the Senior Player of the Year for the second straight time, the South Carolina Golf Association announced.
And in the South Carolina Junior Golf Association, Madison Messimer of Myrtle Beach earned the Beth Daniel Girls Player of the Year Award for the third consecutive year, while Erik Erlenkeuser of Anderson is the Jay Haas Boys Player of the Year.
During 2024, Jackson competed in 12 SCGA ranked events, highlighted by a fourth-place finish in the S.C. Amateur, a tie for third at the SC Mid-Amateur and a second-place finish in the Palmetto Amateur. He also had top-10 performances in the Carolinas Amateur Championship and Carolinas Mid-Amateur Championship. Nationally, Jackson advanced to match play in the U.S. Mid-Amateur for the third consecutive year.

Jackson joined PGA Tour golfer D.J. Trahan as the only players to win Player of the Year three consecutive times.
White, a former Walker Cup player who played collegiately at Furman, won the R&A Senior Amateur Walton Heath, England, finished fifth in the S.C. Amateur, advanced to the quarterfinals of the U.S. Senior Amateur and made it to the Round of 32 in the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball. He also earned entries into the U.S. Senior Open, U.S. Amateur and U.S. Mid-Amateur.
Messimer joined McKenzie Talbert as the only player to win the Beth Daniel Girls Player of the Year three times. She tied for fourth in the PGA Junior Championship and tied for fifth at at the U.S. Girls' Junior Championship. She also was a member of the victorious U.S. team in the Junior Solheim Cup, coached by Daniel.
Erlenkeuser played in more than 30 events during 2024, winning the Harvey Brock Orange Jacket tournament and finished as runner-up in the Blade Junior Classic.
The SCJGA awards, named in honor of South Carolina golf legends Jay Haas and Beth Daniel, recognize the top junior golfers in the state based on the Heritage Classic Foundation Rankings.
