NATIONAL Grid has warned of "disruption" on the A370 while temporary traffic measures are in place as part of the ongoing Hinkley Connection Project near Congresbury.
The works, which are scheduled to run from November 3 to November 28, will involve removing a temporary access point used during construction and restoring the land to its original condition.
To allow the work to be carried out, three-way traffic lights will operate 24 hours a day for the duration of the project.
Contractors Balfour Beatty will be working onsite between 7.30am and 5pm each day.
National Grid, which is behind the works, says it has carefully planned the traffic management to maintain flow on the busy A370 while ensuring the safety of workers and road users. However, the measures will mean some local disruptions.
The Moorland Park bus stops on Weston Road will be temporarily suspended, and the adjacent pedestrian footpath will be closed for the duration of the works.
Traffic management operatives will be available during working hours to help pedestrians navigate safely around the site.
A spokesperson for the Hinkley Connection Project's community relations team said the organisation is committed to keeping residents informed and minimising disruption wherever possible.
"We understand that roadworks can be inconvenient," they said. "Our teams are working hard to complete this work safely, efficiently, and within the shortest possible timeframe."
Residents living nearby have been sent information postcards with further details about the works and contact information for any questions or concerns.
The Hinkley Connection Project is part of National Grid's effort to connect low-carbon energy generated at Hinkley Point C to homes and businesses across the region.
For more information or to raise concerns, residents can contact the National Grid Community Relations Team via the details provided on the distributed postcards.
