:: A massive dust storm sweeps across Arizona, grounding flights at Sky Harbor International Airport
:: The U.S. weather service called the storm a 'haboob', common in the Southwest during summer
Local media reported over 200 flights leaving the airport were delayed as of 9:30 p.m. local time (0430 GMT on August 26), following a ground stop issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) which restricted arrivals and departures for around an hour.
The National Weather Service described the dust storm as a "haboob", and weather experts said they frequently occur during the summer monsoon season in the southwest United States.
