A doctor has shared why your baby's hair can look different now versus when they were a newborn. Speaking on social media, Dr Myro Figura, MD, also known as @doctormyro, explained the reasons behind this change.
And now, parents are sharing their own experiences, with many expressing surprise at how much their little one's hair has transformed. The anesthesiologist who loves to help people understand medical facts, said: "This actually happens. The starter kit baby hair actually falls out in a few months.
"What grows back can absolutely change colour. In fact, the majority of kids have changed in colour or tone of their hair. This actually happens because, as the hair follicle matures, it changes the amount of melanin it produces - and in a few years, it can change again as the hormones shift. The production of melanin also."
He added that for all parents know, their children's hair could keep changing meaning your blonde baby could soon be a brunette "because kids fake us out all the time".
In the comments, many people said they were shocked when it happened to their children, and some even recall when their own hair changes. One said: "I faked my parents out I was born with blue eyes black hair, then my hair changed to blonde and my eyes hazel then it changed again and my hair turned to black and my eyes green."
Another loved his reference to the change in colour with another writing: "Starter kit baby hair" with laughing emojis. Not everyone was born with a full head of hair, though, with one humorous saying: "Well, I was born bald."
A parent also added: "My daughter looks like she was gonna have dark hair" with another saying: "I really thought my daughter's dark brown hair would fall out and come back blonde like mine and my husband's did . But nope, stayed brown."
