Manchester City submit a 23-man List A squad for the League Phase of the 2025-26 Champions League, including six new signings and four goalkeepers.
Manchester City have submitted their squad for the League Phase of the 2025-26 Champions League.
The Citizens are gearing up for their 15th successive season in Europe's most prestigious club competition after securing a top-five finish in the Premier League on the final weekend of last season.
The 2025-26 tournament will represent the second year of the new format which pits 36 teams into one large table, with a top-eight finish required to automatically qualify for the last 16 and a top-24 finish enough to enter the playoff round.
Confirmation of Man City's squad comes just over two weeks before they welcome Kevin De Bruyne's Napoli to the Etihad Stadium for their opening League Phase fixture on September 18.
Guardiola and co will also face Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen and Ilkay Gundogan's Galatasaray on home soil, while they will travel to Real Madrid, Monaco, Villarreal and Bodo/Glimt for four away fixtures, with their League Phase campaign concluding in January.
UEFA rules state that each participating club is permitted to submit a maximum of 25 players on List A which must include at least two goalkeepers and eight 'locally trained players', while no club can have more than four 'association-trained players' listed among those eight places.
Donnarumma among five new signings included in Man City's CL squad
Meanwhile, List B allows clubs to include players born on or after January 1, 2004 who have been registered with the club for an uninterrupted period of two years, or a total of three consecutive years with a maximum of one loan period to a club from the same association for a period not longer than one year - this list can be amended before each fixture.
Man City academy graduates Rico Lewis and Nico O'Reilly have both been included on List B, while a total of 23 players have been selected in List A.
Guardiola's squad comprises six of his new signings including deadline day arrival Gianluigi Donnarumma, who has joined from reigning Champions League winner Paris Saint-Germain.
Fellow new recruits James Trafford, Marcus Bettinelli, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki have also been included, although the latter is facing up to two months on the sidelines with an injury and could therefore miss a significant chunk of the League Phase.
Donnarumma, Trafford and Bettinelli are joined in the goalkeeping department by Stefan Ortega, who remains at the Etihad for now having failed to secure a move away from the club.
Rodri, who scored the winning goal for Man City in the 2023 Champions League final, is one of several star names in Guardiola's squad along with the likes of captain Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol, Omar Marmoush and Erling Haaland.
Man City's squad does not include Ederson, Ilkay Gundogan or Manuel Akanji, though, as they all secured moves away from the club on deadline day.
Should Man City progress from the League Phase and qualify for the knockout round, they can register a maximum of three new players before February 5, 2026.
