Contact with the US President will take place after the meeting of the "Alliance of the Willing"
French President Emanuel Macron, his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenski and other European leaders will have communication with Donald Trump on Thursday on security guarantees in Ukraine, according to Elysee.
The communication with the US president will take place after the meeting of the "Warmist Alliance". The meeting will be attended by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa, Finnish President Alexander Stump, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, among others, while others will participate via teleconference.
Zelensky is expected to propose new sanctions against Russia and discuss with Trump the strengthening of pressure on Moscow.
The "Alliance of the Willing," consists of about thirty countries, mostly European, that are ready to support Ukraine militarily. It is still considering sending troops to Ukraine, once a ceasefire with Russia is reached, in order to prevent any new Russian aggression.
