Parts of Draper experiencing emergency water shutdown

SALT LAKE CITY -- An emergency water shutdown occurred in Draper on Friday, a day after another shutdown was triggered for some residents due to repairs made on a water leak.

Draper City said Friday's water shutdown had to be established after a second leak appeared in a water line at 11573 S. 700 West. By Saturday morning, crews were still working on the leak due to some complications.

"This is a different location than the previous repair, but it affects the same service area shown on the (map below)," the city stated. "Crews are working to isolate the leak and will be excavating to make repairs."

According to city officials, water was originally expected to be shut off for eight to 10 hours as crews worked. However, by Saturday morning, the city said the water would be shut off for most of the day.
