Apparently jolted by gale of defection by governors elected on its ticket, the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), has postponed its 103rd National Executive Committee, (NEC), meeting indefinitely.
Debo Ologunagba, PDP National Publicity Secretary said on Monday night in a statement, that the postponed meeting was earlier scheduled for Wednesday.
According to Ologunagba, the decision followed the recent developments in the Party's National Working Committee, NWC of the umbrella party.
Although, he did not mention what prompted the postponement, it was gathered that it may not unconnected with the resolve of some of the serving governors of the party the renounced their membership and joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
More are still being expected to dumped the party to join Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu state as report revealed that Agbu Kefas and Douye Diri of Taraba and Bayelsa states have perfected plans to join the APC.
The PDP statement claimed that it was in exercise of its powers pursuant to Section 29 (2)(b) of the Constitution of the PDP (as amended in 2017) has at its emergency meeting on Monday, 13th October, 2025, approved the postponement of the 103rd NEC meeting to a new date that will be communicated to members in due course.
The PDP publicity Secretary also said, "All NEC members should please note the postponement and be guided accordingly."
