LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -- An argument turned into a deadly shooting that killed one and left two injured, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department documents.
Police said they responded to reports of a shooting on Oct. 12 just before 8 p.m. at a residence near Vegas and Torrey Pines drives in west Las Vegas.
An interview with a witness revealed that Tia Juardo and Christopher Ford, identified as the witness's mother and father, had been arguing about problems both business-related and personal. When Juardo wanted to leave, Ford refused to give the keys to the truck. The witness was going to leave for work early and saw Ford blocking the hallway, the report said.
Police said cameras captured an argument happening out of view. Audio from the camera captured Juardo's voice saying she was going to call 911. When Juardo threatened to call the police, the witness recalled Ford saying "Oh yeah," before pulling a handgun and shooting her.
Investigators said the video showed Ford walking into frame "with both arms extended out in a position consistent with a shooting stance" before leaving the frame as more gunshots were heard.
According to the report, Ford reportedly turned the gun on the witness who backed into a bedroom. The witness was shot in the leg before drawing his own gun and returning fire.
Juardo was seen running to the front door, holding her chest, the report said. She collapsed near the front door. Officials said Juardo had been shot twice near her right shoulder and had a wound from a bullet fragment in her right thigh.
The witness told police he remembered dropping his gun and running for help. He said he believed if he hadn't used his firearm to defend himself, he would have been killed.
Ford faces charges that include open murder and attempted murder. He is due to appear in court on Oct. 27.
