Depeche Mode Announces New Film "M" and Live Album "Memento Mori: Mexico City"

Depeche Mode will release a new concert film and live album this December. The project, titled "Memento Mori: Mexico City," was recorded during the band's 2023 tour. It captures their performance at the massive Foro Sol Stadium in Mexico City. The release is scheduled for December 5.

The film, directed by Fernando Frias, is named "M." It explores Mexican cultural perspectives on death. This theme connects deeply with the band's latest studio album, "Memento Mori."

The release will be available in several physical formats. Fans can purchase a CD/DVD or CD/Blu-ray combo pack. The live album will also be sold separately as a double CD and a quadruple LP vinyl set.

According to Reuters, the live album features twenty-four tracks from the Mexico City concert. It includes four additional bonus tracks from the original "Memento Mori" studio sessions. This gives collectors new, unreleased material.

Director Fernando Frias aims to create more than a standard concert film. His project, "M," uses the band's performance as a backdrop. It delves into a broader narrative about life and death.

The release concludes the touring cycle for "Memento Mori," the band's first album following Andy Fletcher's passing. It serves as a powerful document of the band's current era. This collection is expected to be a significant release for their dedicated global fanbase.
