The Mwaghavul Development Association (MDA) in Mangu LGA of Plateau State has decried the attacks by gunmen in Pushit community which resulted in the death of three persons in the area.
MDA, in a statement by the director of Public Affairs, Friday Derwam, said the association is deeply saddened by the disturbing report of yet another attack on the Mwaghavul nation, particularly in Pushit community.
According to the statement, MDA is heartbroken that, despite the ongoing efforts to ensure peace in Mwaghavul land through various non-kinetic strategies, these assailants continue to perpetrate their evil agenda, ignoring collective calls for sustainable peace in the area.
"We want to emphasise that our community's commitment to peace is unwavering. We call on the Mwaghavul nation to remain calm, vigilant and dedicated to peaceful coexistence in the face of these provocations," he said.
According to him, MDA remain resolute in their mission to overcome evil with good and to protect the people through all legitimate means.
"We call on security operatives in the local government area and Plateau State to rise to the challenge of insecurity and unwarranted assaults on innocent and defenceless lives," he added.
Derwam also maintained that they share in the grief of the immediate families and loved ones of the victims, the entire Pushit community, and the Mwaghavul nation as a whole.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this incredibly difficult time. Together, we will continue to stand united in our pursuit of peace and justice," he said.
