The Bakersfield Police Department said on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at around 7:03 a.m., officers were dispatched to Hageman Road and Fruitvale Avenue for an injury crash involving a Mazda Miata and a Mitsubishi Outlander.
When officers arrived, they found the driver of the Miata sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for medical attention.

The driver of the Outlander, identified as a woman, and a passenger, identified as a child, also sustained minor injuries and were taken to a hospital.
A passenger, identified as a man, in the Outlander sustained severe injuries and is in critical condition at a hospital, according to police.
Police said a preliminary investigation revealed the driver of the Outlander was eastbound on Hageman Road and stopped at a red light. When the light cycled to green, the driver of the Outlander proceeded into the intersection at which time the Outlander was struck by the Miata which was traveling south on Fruitvale Avenue.
According to police, speed and intoxication are believed to be factors in the crash.
The intersection of Hageman Road and Fruitvale Avenue is closed in all directions while officers continue their investigation, which is ongoing.
