Cozy season is upon us. And that means crunchy leaves, crispy air, and, for some of us, pumpkin-spiced everything. That, of course, doesn't have to stop with just us humans. Our beloved doggos can also get in on the pumpkin-spiced action with Milk-Bone's Pup-Kin Spice Dog Biscuits. Target shoppers are loving these limited-edition dog treats, leaving hundreds of five-star reviews.
Dogs seem to love the size and crunchy texture of the treats. Humans love that Milk-Bone claims the treats help freshen breath, reduce tartar buildup, and have 12 extra vitamins and minerals. And at just $4 for an eight-ounce bag, they're a pretty good deal. Here are a few recent reviews from some Target shoppers.

Milk-Bone Pup-Kin Spice Dog Biscuits, $3.99 at Target
"My dog maleek wasn't a fan of these (he's old and very picky lol) but my mom's little dog was obsessed! Great option for a little seasonal treat for any pup! She started doing a happy dance as soon as my toddler would grab the bag. The small size is the perfect bite size -- they seemed really easy to chew for her too! You can hear a crunch that she seemed to enjoy and they actually have a pleasant, non-overpowering pumpkin-spice scent. If you're looking for a simple and affordable seasonal treat your dog will like definitely give these a go will!"
"Milk-Bone Pumpkin dog biscuits are a fun seasonal treat that my dog really enjoyed. They have the classic crunchy Milk-Bone texture but with a subtle pumpkin flavor and scent that feels festive without being overpowering. I like that they're not overly messy or greasy, making them easy to toss in a bag or keep in a treat jar without worrying about crumbs or residue. They're also a good size for medium to large dogs, though smaller dogs might need to break them into pieces. On the plus side, they don't upset my dog's stomach like some holiday treats do, and they provide a satisfying crunch that helps keep her teeth busy. On the downside, the ingredient list isn't as "clean" as some premium dog treats out there and has fillers and added colors, so if you're very strict about all-natural products, this may not be your first choice. Overall, though, they're a nice, affordable way to give your dog a seasonal snack, and mine definitely looks forward to them."
Is Pumpkin Good for Dogs?
The short answer is yes, in moderation. I did a lot of research on this when I was looking for solutions to help my Bernese mountain dog with his often loose stools and diarrhea. Pumpkin's high fiber content makes it suitable for doggos that struggle with constipation or diarrhea. It also contains essential nutrients, such as vitamins A, C, and E, and is high in antioxidants. And it contains omega-3 fatty acids, which can support skin and coat health. If your dog is overweight, pumpkin's fiber helps it feel full despite its low calorie content.
I did find that giving Huxley, my Berner, a spoonful of pure pumpkin puree on top of his meals helped regulate his tummy issues. He also loved it. If you're thinking about introducing pumpkin to your doggo, make sure it's pure pumpkin, not pumpkin pie filling or anything else that might contain additional preservatives or sugar. And start with a small amount to make sure your doggo isn't allergic to it.
