Mega pop star Beyonce performed during the halftime show of Netflix's Christmas Day game between the Baltimore Ravens and her hometown Houston Texans. And according to reports, the Lemonade artist was paid about as much as Seahawks QB Geno Smith makes over the course of an entire season.
Back in 2019, Beyonce signed a three-project, $60 million deal with the streaming giant in 2019. According to Variety, she was paid $20 million for the 2019 concert documentary Homecoming: A Film by Beyonce.
The assumption is that the halftime show -- which featured the first ever live performances of songs off Beyonce's Cowboy Carter album -- during the Texans-Ravens game also carried a $20 million price tag. Netflix dubbed the performance the "#BeyonceBowl," which went viral on social media during the game.
"If we believe this to be true, then that's $20 million specifically for this [halftime] performance," Trapital founder Dan Ruchie told Andscape.
During the halftime show, Beyonce performed the songs "16 Carriages", "Blackbiird" featuring Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, Tiera Kennedy and Reyna Roberts, "Ya Ya", "My House", "Sweet Honey Buckin'" featuring Shaboozey, "Levii's Jeans" featuring Post Malone, "Jolene", and "Texas Hold 'Em."
Beyonce's daughter Blue Ivy also joined her mother on stage to perform the song "Texas Hold 'Em," which closed out the performance. As for the game itself, the Baltimore Ravens dominated the home team Houston Texans, winning the game by a score of 31-2.
The iconic pop star previously performed during the Super Bowl halftime show at the Superdome in New Orleans during Super Bowl XLVII between the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers.
