Just days out from Apple's September 9 "Awe Dropping" showcase, more detail is emerging on what to expect from the company's biggest launch of the year.
As ChannelNews reported last week, the spotlight will fall on the iPhone 17 range, with the introduction of an all-new iPhone 17 Air - Apple's thinnest handset to date.
New Bloomberg reports suggest the Air will be just 5.5mm thick, feature a 6.6-inch ProMotion display and Apple's first in-house modem.
Crucially, concerns over reduced battery life appear to have been resolved, with the Air expected to match the endurance of current models.
The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are shaping up as photography powerhouses. According to supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, both will feature a new rear camera bar housing three 48-megapixel sensors, along with a sharper 24MP selfie camera.
They will also run on Apple's new A19 Pro chip with up to 12GB RAM, while the Pro Max could get a larger battery to support the added performance.
For the base iPhone 17, expect a step-up with a smoother 120Hz display for the first time and a slightly larger 6.3-inch screen. Notably, Apple looks set to axe the 'Plus' variant, with the new Air effectively filling that gap.
Apple is also tipped to roll out three new Apple Watches: the Series 11, a refreshed SE, and the rugged Watch Ultra 3. The Ultra could introduce satellite texting for off-grid messaging, alongside expanded health monitoring features.
Also on the horizon are the AirPods Pro 3, reportedly gaining a new H3 chip, improved active noise cancellation, and even heart-rate monitoring - bringing Apple's earbuds deeper into the health and fitness space.
As usual, new arrivals mean farewells. Industry insiders suggest Apple will discontinue the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, as well as the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus. The Apple Watch Series 10 is also expected to be retired once its successor launches.
Apple's product reveal will take place at 3am AEST, September 10. Pre-orders for the iPhone 17 range should open on September 12, with retail availability from September 19.
