Team India will be eyeing a much-needed victory in the ongoing third ODI against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney.
Shubman Gill's captaincy reign has started with a series loss. The young batsman recently replaced Rohit Sharma as the ODI captain but has not been able to justify the call so far. Under his captaincy, India were outplayed in the first two ODIs of the three-match series. Gill also failed to lead from the front in any of the matches as he scored 10 and 9.

In both matches, India's batters and bowlers failed to impress as Australia bagged the series. With the series already decided, Team India will be hoping to win the third match to avoid a humiliating whitewash.
Team India will be without Nitish Kumar Reddy for the third ODI. The allrounder made his ODI debut in the first match of the series and played an important cameo of 19* ,including two sixes. In the second match, he was out for just 8 runs.
While Nitish Kumar Reddy would have liked to end the series on a good note, his hopes were dashed by an unfortunate injury. He was ruled out of the last match of the series owing to a quadricep injury.
"Nitish Kumar Reddy sustained a left quadriceps injury during the second ODI in Adelaide and was subsequently unavailable for selection for the third ODI. The BCCI Medical Team is monitoring him on a daily basis," BCCI said in a statement.
Nitish Kumar Reddy has also been named in the T20I squad for the upcoming series against Australia and will be hoping to recover quickly.
Apart from the all-rounder, Arshdeep Singh is also not a part of India's playing eleven for the third ODI. Nitish Kumar Reddy and Arshdeep have been replaced by Kuldeep Yadav and Prasidh Krishna.
