A woman is fighting for her life following a rush-hour smash in rural Wiltshire.
Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance was scrambled, flying across the county to reach the A338 east of Burbage at around 4.20pm on Friday (17 October).
Emergency services were called to a two vehicle road traffic collision involving a Skoda Superb and a Peugeot Expert at Piccadilly Crossroads.
An elderly woman, who was passenger in the Skoda, sustained life-threatening injuries.
She was airlifted to the Regional Major Trauma Centre at Southampton General Hospital, where she remains. Her family have been informed.
The road was closed in all directions until early this morning (Saturday) for forensic collision investigation work.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: "Any witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have dash cam footage showing it are asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 01225 694597 quoting log number 207 of 17/18/2025.
