The North East has been told to expect thunderstorms on Thursday, bringing heavy showers and strong winds.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms for areas including Darlington, Durham, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland, and Stockton.
The warning is in place from 2am until 5pm and also covers the East Midlands, East England, North West, South West, Wales, West Midlands, and Yorkshire and Humber.
Heavy showers and thunderstorms moving northeast are expected to cause localised flooding.
The Met Office has warned people to expect spray and sudden flooding, which could create difficult driving conditions and cause road closures.
There is a slight chance of delays and cancellations to train and bus services where flooding or lightning strikes happen.
The Met Office has said there is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail, or strong winds.
