A beautiful village just outside London is so in demand that people buy houses without even seeing them. Cobham sits on the River Mole in Surrey, and has a number of independent shops on the high street, as well as pubs and greens.
The village was included on The Telegraph's list of Britain's 50 most desirable places to live. It is the most expensive place to buy a home on the Telegraph's list, and so in demand that people are even buying homes before they've seen them, according to a local estate agent. "I have clients moving from Singapore who've done just that - it just is a lovely place to live," said Richard Winter, who runs his own firm. According to Rightmove, the average house price in Cobham is £1,252,666 and on Zoopla it is £1,225,550.
Lucian Cook, head of residential research for Savills, said: "It's worth noting that this location is not a second-home hotspot. It is an aspirational, affluent place that attracts incoming wealth with good schools and a strong quality of housing stock where residents are economically active who are building up their property and personal wealth."
